Fabian Llonch

Fabian earned his degree as a Licensed Architect from the Facultad de Arquitectura, Planeamiento y Diseño at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina, where Enric Miralles tutored his PFC. He completed his Master of Architecture with Honors at Washington University in 1999, receiving the prestigious Frederick Widmann Prize for outstanding architectural achievement.

His professional career includes working at Caballero Gimenez Arquitectura in Rosario, Corea Gallardo Mannino in Barcelona, Spain, and contributing to the City Planning Office in Rosario. He collaborated with Adrian Luchini and worked at Steven Holl Architects in New York.

Fabian co-founded llonch+vidalle Architecture (LLV), where he serves as Principal. His work has been recognized by over 20 awards, including being named one of the top young architects in Argentina by the Universidad de Palermo and Arquis Magazine. LLV’s work has received national and international recognition, with projects like Millennium Plaza at the Crossroads in Chicago, Rock Bridge Christian Church in Columbia, Missouri, the West End Pedestrian Bridge in Pittsburgh, and the Museums Connection in Córdoba, Argentina. One of LLV’s most notable projects, the Nuevo Centro Cultural in Rafaela, Argentina,  received awards at the Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura in Córdoba and the Bienal Iberoamericana in São Paulo.

Fabian has been awarded the Faculty Achievement Award from the Spitzer School of Architecture at City College of New York and presented with the Diploma of Honor by the House of Representatives of Santa Fe, Argentina, in recognition of his professional accomplishments. His work has been exhibited in the United States, Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Ecuador, and at the Biennale Architettura in Venice in 2018, 2020, and 2023. It has also been featured in publications across Italy, Spain, Canada, Germany, Argentina, and the United States, including three magazine covers. LLV’s first monograph, “[dis]PLACED,” was published in 2015, and he is currently preparing his second monograph.

Fabian has taught in Italy, Argentina, Spain, and the United States and has been invited as a guest critic at prestigious institutions, including ETSAB/ETSAV in Barcelona, Harvard GSD, Columbia University, Washington University, RISD, Taubman College, among others. He currently holds the position of Visiting Critic at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design and Pratt Institute GAUD and serves as an Associate Professor at the Spitzer School of Architecture, City College of New York. He is the Director of the Barcelona Summer Program, held at the Enric Miralles Foundation.
